The first quarter of 2024 brought interesting trends for the top 5 News and Magazines apps on Android in Latin America. Sensor Tower data reveals fluctuations in weekly downloads, active users, and revenue for these applications.

Notícias Locais saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 143K in early January and peaking at around 171K in mid-March. Active users for the app also rose from 449K to 584K by the end of the quarter. Revenue exhibited a moderate fluctuation, peaking at $67 in the second week of January and closing the quarter at $40.

Opera News: breaking & local experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 151K in the first week of January and dropping to 84K by the last week of March. Despite this, the app maintained a strong weekly active user base, ranging from 1.4M to 1.5M throughout the quarter.
